Past Events & Projects
During the Spring 2026 semester, SUSD launched its largest speaker series yet, a monthlong project led by the Academic and Professional Development committees. Every week, students coordinated fireside chats and panels bringing in numerous sustainability-focused researchers, professors, and industry professionals. This series covered topics like climate finance, paleoclimate research, sustainable agriculture, and political advocacy, representing the diverse range of interests within SUSD. Stay tuned for more exciting speaker events coming in Fall 2026!

In addition to speaker events, SUSD's Academic Development Committee regularly publishes Course Registration guides to help Sustainable Development majors & minors determine which electives to take, hosts fun study sessions, and coordinates an annual senior panel to provide advice to underclassmen. The Professional Development Committee contributes to a weekly newsletter detailing job & internship opportunities and hosts an annual career panel with Columbia alumni!
